Completed in Spring 2025, Leo Restaurant & Bar represents a sophisticated restaurant build-out within Ensemble Arts Philly at the Kimmel Center on Philadelphia’s Avenue of the Arts. As General Contractor, MJ Settelen transformed an existing interior space into a vibrant fine-dining environment centered around a lively bar and open kitchen concept.
The five-month renovation required a full interior construction scope, including custom millwork, feature lighting installations, and high-end finishes such as natural stone, warm wood, and brushed metal. Designed by Make Collective and Estudio Guada, with Fifteen Architecture serving as Architect of Record, the project demanded careful attention to detail and craftsmanship to deliver the refined aesthetic and seamless functionality expected in a premier hospitality setting within one of Philadelphia’s most prominent cultural venues.
The completed space emphasizes openness and visibility, allowing guests to experience the culinary process while enjoying a warm, modern dining atmosphere that complements the architectural character of the Kimmel Center.
Leo Restaurant & Bar is operated by Rhubarb Hospitality Collection, which serves as the official catering and concessions partner for Ensemble Arts Philly, the organization that oversees the Kimmel Center, the Miller Theater, and the Academy of Music. The addition of Leo reflects Ensemble Arts’ continued commitment to enhancing the guest experience across its performing arts venues.
Today, Leo Restaurant & Bar stands as a notable addition to Philadelphia’s dining scene and highlights MJ Settelen’s expertise in delivering high-quality hospitality and restaurant construction projects.
