The Terrace at The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton transforms an existing outdoor amenity into an elevated gathering space overlooking Philadelphia’s City Hall and Dilworth Park. Designed for both everyday use and entertaining, the refreshed terrace combines durable exterior construction with hospitality-inspired amenities and custom architectural features.

Working alongside CosciaMoos Architecture, MJ Settelen Construction completed the renovation of the existing occupied roof terrace, incorporating a new custom pergola, outdoor kitchen and bar, gas fire pits, new pavers, specialty lighting, landscaping elements, and upgraded infrastructure throughout the space. The construction documents identify the project as a Level II alteration of the existing exterior occupied roof terrace, with the surrounding interior amenity spaces remaining operational and outside the project scope.

A defining feature of the terrace is the custom steel pergola, constructed with galvanized structural steel and wood-look aluminum battens. Its installation required careful coordination with the existing roof, paver, waterproofing, and structural systems.

The completed terrace provides residents with a sophisticated outdoor destination for gathering, dining, and relaxing while taking advantage of its distinctive Center City setting.
